Renovation Kudos – Old Pasadena – St Petersburg

Old Pasadena Renovation

This afternoon Tami and I visited friends to see the renovation (restoration and addition) they’d done on their historic home in Old Pasadena, a historic neighborhood in southwest St Petersburg. The home is set on 1/2 acre of tropical landscaping, with gardens, patios and wonderful privacy, just a 5 minute walk from Boca Ciega Bay. Built in the booming 1920s and designed by architect William Schooley, the home with its new addition is over 5,000 sq ft. You’d be hard pressed to tell where the original home ends and the new one begins, as the two are melded beautifully.

The home wraps around a paver patio with an inviting swimming pool, with lots of inviting places to sit and while away the afternoon. Nooks abound, as do large rooms such as the enveloping theater room and the spacious master bedroom suite, just 3 steps from the pool – wonderfully private. Gardens perfect for strolling, wedding, or just hiding away. The beauty of original tile and seasoned wood floors complement arched windows and French doors.

It’s certainly a job well done – their passion for the home’s soul and the attention to detail are evident wherever you turn.

There’s lots more to show, but that’s for future blogs …

I love St. Petersburg and your description of this fabulous sounding home makes me say “Ahhhhhh”. There’s nothing like a Florida home with character!

Sandy – I appreciate homes with character in any locale, but since I obviously prefer Florida and St Petersburg, they are extra nice to have here.
