The Gift Box is now open in downtown St. Petersburg! Remember B. Chandler’s on Beach Drive? The Gift Box is that and more. This charming and inviting shop has opened at 400 Beach Drive NE – actually on the Fourth Avenue NE side of 400 Beach. Linda Albrecht (Image Creations of Florida) and Judy Bailey (Brandy’s Interiors), owners of The Gift Box, have an appealing selection of gifts, from under $10 to over $500. China, glassware, barware … baby gifts, wedding gifts, hostess gifts … candles, napkins, aprons … jewelry, scarves, beach bags. The Gift Box has selections from local artists and crafts people, such as Sydney Lemieux who makes wonderful teddy bears from your Grandma’s mink coat and avant-garde artists, such as Romero Britto, originally from Brazil, whose works have been approved for display in the Louvre. Check out his playful coffee mugs and luggage tags.
Since you’ll probably find some gifts you’d like for yourself, you can add to your own Wish List there, or arrange for Judy and Linda to help that special someone who may be shopping for your gift. While I was there a few days ago I left with some purchases – and on Mother’s Day I was surprised with a couple “Mm, I like this” gifts I happened to remark on when I was in the store. Sneaky Linda! By the way, Tiffany’s blue box has a cousin: The Gift Box’s blue tissue paper coming out of their Gift Box bag. This morning I saw two great big Gift Box bags in the lobby of the Vinoy, as a visitor was taking her goodies back home. She said she loved the store!
Linda and Judy promise a constantly changing selection of goodies so be sure and drop in to look around whenever you’re downtown shopping, eating or strolling. And because you’re special – if you stop at The Simms Team at ALVA International at 238 Beach Drive NE (right across from the Museum of Fine Arts, with the red awning that says Real Estate) we’ll sign an introductory card that will give you 10% off on your first purchase.
