Cafe 100 in downtown St Petersburg
January 5th, 2010 categories: Places to Eat
Café 100 in downtown St Petersburg was the first destination on our Mother-Daughter Morning today. Tami and I went over to Cafe 100 on the ground floor of the Northern Trust Building as part of our search for breakfast options in downtown St Pete. Lonnie greeted us warmly on a cold morning and explained their many choices, even telling us the portion sizes so we wouldn’t over order. How about a breakfast special? 2 eggs with bacon or sausage plus potatoes or grits or oatmeal, plus toast, plus coffee – all for $3.50. Check out the Café 100 menu online. They open at 7 am. Oh, yes – we had a great meal. You can check reviews at Urban Spoon.

A peek in the window at 400 Beach – St Petersburg Florida
October 21st, 2008 categories: 400 Beach, Downtown St Petersburg, Places to Eat
An early morning glimpse of work beginning in the space at the northeast corner of 400 Beach in downtown St Petersburg. It’s almost like Santa’s workshop – there are no signs. A drafting table with plans is set up in the unfinished space and pipes are being laid. It must be the beginning of 400 Beach Seafood and Tap House, the new restaurant being developed by Steve Westphal of Parkshore Grill fame.
Scheduled to open on February 15th, 2009, this seafood companion to Parkshore Grill should be an instant success with the same ownership and management, the same sidewalk dining across from the park and Vinoy yacht basin.

Downtown St Petersburg: another view
April 4th, 2008 categories: Downtown St Petersburg, Events, Lifestyle, Places to Eat
Downtown St Petersburg experienced as “a tourist” was the topic of a recent blog post by Shakespeare’s Sister. She and her husband spent the weekend at Inn at the Bay and enjoyed downtown St Pete. Moon Under Water and Paciugo’s gelaterie were restaurant stops, and they enjoyed the Saturday morning market, SPIFFS St Petersburg International Folk Fair and the Festival of Speeds. Check her post for impressions and photos.
