Beach Drive restaurants in downtown St Petersburg

Cassis American Brasserie

It’s time to update my post 2 years ago on Beach Drive restaurants in downtown St Petersburg, Florida. In addition to Parkshore Grill, Moon Under Water, Cassis, Hooker Tea, Marketplace Express, Paciugo Gelato and 400 Beach, all of which offer “sidewalk cafes” as well as inside dining, we now have Tryst and Bella Brava, also offering dining inside or out. What a great selection of places to sit and enjoy something to eat or drink. ¬†Bookmark this post and you’ll have a handy guide to the Beach Drive restaurant sites: get the phone numbers, the hours and menus for you to look over.

Gatsby’s Restaurant is gone: Grayl’s Hotel is being renovated and will reopen as Birchwood Inn with a rooftop lounge on the 4th floor. NOLA at Parkshore Plaza is now¬†AnnaStella Cajun Bistro.

Come enjoy Beach Drive in downtown St Petersburg. Enjoy a stroll along the park and waterfront, enjoy the shops, restaurants and museums. And, yes, dogs are welcome. Downtown St Pete is definitely dog friendly with water bowls along the way – Cassis even has a doggie menu!

And if you have real estate needs, stop in to see The Simms Team at ALVA International, at 238 Beach Drive NE – look for the red awning that says REAL ESTATE.

Tryst Gastro Lounge now open on Beach Drive

Tryst opens on Beach Drive

Tryst opens on Beach Drive

Tryst Gastro Lounge is now open for lunch and dinner at 240 Beach Drive NE in downtown St Petersburg. It’s right next door to ALVA International so we can be served a great meal at a table right outside our real estate office door. It’s a great office extension with a portable phone and our front door a few feet away.

Tryst has had its lounge open for about a week and it’s been a happening place! Happy Hour from 4-7 with half priced drinks. This first week they’ve been passing out samples of their cuisine.

Last week the Localista reviewed Tryst on i love the burg. Check out the interior photos.

Welcome to Tryst

Welcome to Tryst

Come to Tryst and meet French owner Renaud Cowez and his chef, Mark Kaba, once from France but more recently from the Ritz in Orlando. Try the food – from a simple burger (beef or lamb) or salad to beef carpaccio and vanilla infused duck breast. Enjoy a drink. And if you need real estate – stop next door and see The Simms Team at ALVA International.

400 Beach: Ooze & Schmooze Update

The windows of 400 Beach in downtown St Petersburg last week were filled with posters of Robert Irvine, noted chef from the Food Channel. Ooze & Schmooze will be his first restaurants, and his parrtner J. Randall Williams reports that the restaurant should have its soft opening by the end of February. If that’s to happen, there will have to be some pretty fast and coordinated work fitting out the inside. Williams promised lots of famous names from the food world will be in St Petersburg for the opening. All this is on the street level of 400 Beach, a 29 story luxury condominium building that was just completed.

Hammerhead Island Grill to open in downtown St Petersburg Florida

After Julian’s restaurant closed at the corner of 2nd St and 4th Ave N in downtown St Petersburg, Florida, there was a sign in the window saying that Rattlefish Grill was opening soon. I posted about that back in May. A couple of weeks ago that sign disappeared. Wonder what’s happening? Here’s the scoop:

It is scheduled to open on or about October 17th under the name of Hammerhead Island Grille.

As a side note, the original Rattlefish Raw Bar and Grill on Tyson Blvd in south Tampa is closed for renovations and will open under the name Tampa Harbor Yacht Club.
